I made an offer on a home in mid August 2008 with a set closing date of October 30. Come November 27, the sellers had not fulfilled the inspections requested and they couldn't even give me an estimated date. My current lease was ending in December so you can imagine the stress! When I told my realtor I was no longer interested in the property, I received a pile of bills for the home inspection and $100 furnace repair I had asked for. I had given a $500 deposit of earnest money. I agreed to pay for the furnace repair since I had requested it but wanted the remainder returned to me because this fall out was no fault of my own. I am still fighting with the realtors for my money. Am I being unreasonable?!
