I am the seller and have a dispute over the earnest money where a buyer did not make a good faith attempt at obtaining financing. I now have a new offer and are nearing closing. Can the dispute over the 1st offer's earnest money delay the closing of the new offer? This is in Washington state.

in florida no Just went through this. althought the first buyers agent was nasty and tried to stop the closing. delayed closing for about 1 hours everything comes to a halt. however the first buyer had no ground to stand on. No matter where the money is being held check to make sure all funds are there. we are fight where the agent forged our signatures and the buyer got half of the money.
