Real estate rates holding steady

According to Bankrate.com, long-term mortgage interest rates topped out on Wednesday while the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield increased to 4.09%. The 30-year fixed-rate average held steady at 5.24%, along with the 15-year fixed-rate average at 4.64%. The 1-year adjustable also held still at 3.21%. Meanwhile, the 30-year Treasury bond yield increased to 4.84%.

Bankrate.com publishes averages on a nightly basis, and is based on a survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from zero to 3.5. For the same day, the Dow Jones finished at 10,002.03 (up 113.55 points) while the NASDAQ closed at 1969.99 (up 41.2 points).
