I live 200 miles from Dad's house; closing is scheduled for Mon. November 15. Last time I am able to be there to pack last-minute things is that Sat/Sunday. My sister lives 40 minutes from Dad's & is handling with realtor. Buyers want walk through day before closing, when I was still going to be staying at the house (I was planning on leaving early Monday morning, day of closing. This plan was verbalized 2 days after house was sold, 5 weeks ago, & now I'm supposed to vacate & stay at a hotel??????). My sister said once walk through happens, sellers cannot go back in the house!!!Her direct quote via email: " At that point the house is buyers, just signature formality & buyout at the closing on Mon."
Is she correct????? My feeling is that house isn't sold until closing occurs, & I should be able to spend the night Sunday, leave Monday morning to travel home, since closing isn't until 2:30 p.m. anyway.
Do sellers have rights???
