We have a Va loan on our house, we live in lee Co. Florida, we have our insurance and taxes in escrow with the mortgage, the city is now putting in sewer & water pipes, they will be adding assesments of 23,000.00 to our property taxes over the next twenty years, and we also need to come up with 8,000.00 to hook up to the service, we cannot afford this and we know we will not be able to keep up with all the payments, what can we do, do we walk away from the house, or use the last of our savings to pay for the hook-up and hope we can continue with the mortgage payments, our house is 30 years old, I don't think we will ever get the amount we owe, 145,000.00 ,considering you can buy a newer home for only 125,000.00 in our neighborhood, help??? or any suggestions? Everyone around us have gone into foreclosure, our neighborhood looks like a ghost town, we have been making all our payments on time and are still credit worthy, but for how long, we do not know
