Forum Troubleshooting Guide
How do I register?
Registration is easy. Just click on the Register link and follow these simple steps:
- Create a user name. The name you enter here will appear online.
- Enter your email address. You will receive a confirmation email at this address, so be sure that it is valid.
- Create a password.
- Read over and check that you agree to the terms of use for the forum
- Click 'Register'.
A confirmation email will now be sent to the email address you have provided. Before you can login, you must read this email and click on the link provided. This will activate your account and redirect you back to the forum. Now you can login and begin posting as a registered member.
Why do I need to complete my registration?
We have put in this extra step to the registration process as a security measure in order to prevent people from creating multiple aliases. Additionally, it helps to avoid SPAM sites from registering and posting SPAM.
I didn't get my confirmation email. What do I do?
If you have not received a confirmation email, you may want to check your 'Junk', 'SPAM' or even 'Trash' folders. Some email providers may automatically classify our confirmation email as SPAM and therefore not put it in your Inbox. To prevent this from happening, it is a good idea to temporarily turn-off your SPAM filters before you register. Once you receive the confirmation email, you can turn the filters back on.
If you have checked these folders but still cannot find the confirmation email, then you can click on the "Forgot Password" link from the login page. Sending a request for the forgotten password will result in the activation link being emailed to you again. However, be sure to turn off your SPAM filters in your email account first.
What are cookies and why do I need to enable them?
Cookies refers to little bits of data which helps a website remember you better. To use the forum, it is necessary to have your cookies set to accept first-party cookies. This means that our site will remember who you are and that you are logged in as you navigate through the forum. If you do not have your cookies enabled, our site will not remember you and any posts you make will be displayed as 'Guest'.
I can't seem to login. What could be the problem?
Double-check that you are logging in using the same user name and password that you registered with. Remember that your user name and password are case sensitive. For example, if your registered with the user name Jane_Doe, you will not be able to login with the name jane_doe.
Alternatively, check your cookie settings. If you have not enabled your computer to accept first-party cookies, you will not be able to stay logged in.
