We have had a bidding war with Fannie Mae and they finally excepted our offer, the house had been appraised by the county at 214000, when we started, but during the offer-counter offer perioD, it was re-APPRAISED by the county FOR 201,000, THEY ACCEPTED OUR OFFER AT 185,000, we asked for them to split the closing costs, they said no, we have not sold our house and worry about the current real estate market and having 2 mortgages? What if we back out now? we have only signed paperwork for the initial 170,000 bid and did not sign anything more during the offer-counter offer period. We want the house but we noticed some serious water damamge when we went to pick up the paperwork after they accepted our offer. We want to go to the records office and do some more research before we sign, we want to put our house on the market, can we ask for some time? can they keep our earnest money?
