We put in an offer to purchase a house. Later, we were told there will be multiple offers given to the seller (our offer + 1 more). We were just told we need to give the listing agent our highest offer so that when the offers are presented, the seller can look at the low and high offers from the buyers and make a decision. This seems strange--we thought there would be counter-offers.
