My husband and his two siblings inherited their family home recently. It was his mother's wishes that he be left the house since the other 2 don't have any interest. Although she did not change her will, the other 2 siblings know of her wishes. My husband really doesn't want to have to buy his siblings out (refuses to, actually). Are there other options? The home needs about $40,000 worth of work and $10,000 just to make it livable. He doesn't want a $1200 payment AND have to put all that money into the house.
