This is only the case in southern Cali. I am in MN and have been looking to move to Northern Cali and have found that homes there are about the same as Minnesota in price, some are cheaper.

There are so many buyers but alot of inventory available. Properties are in demand. For example: Home in Fremont, CA listed at $549K had a total of 45 offers. Home sells for over $600K.
