This is actually a personal question. My wife and her sister have a huge rivalry. Her sister recently renovated her house, and it looks beautiful. Now my wife wants to one up her! We simply can't afford it though. What should I do?

I would suggest that you comprimise and offre to move the furniture around and make some small improvements. This can make your home look new and might stave off her revovating zeal for a while.

Maybe think about repainting or doing some work on the exterior of your house. Landscaping can be a fun and economical way to transform the look of your home.

Explain to your wife that you don't need to renovate and that if you continue to save your money maybe you can afford to take a vacation somewhere nice. Then who's gonna be jealous?
