EAGLE: Local real estate agent Mark Mogul has escaped the threat of a felony conviction and jail time by pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge and agreeing to pay restitution upfront to the victims.
Mogul, who is now living in South Carolina, agreed to pay more than $300,000 in restitution in an Eagle County courtroom on April 7. He will not go to jail and will get probation for 18 months, the plea agreement stipulates.
Mogul, who was originally charged with two counts of theft, was accused of keeping $351,000 from timeshare sales from Crescent Club Investors and Crescent Club Holdings in Edwards.
