Is there some way to really accurately determine a home's market value. I want to sell my home but I'm getting different opinions from people about its worth.

Sorry Paul, but there's no way to really determine a set market value for a property. You can get a general idea by lookign at what homes on your neighborhood are selling for.

There's a bunch of factors that are used to determine market value. It's not jsut the neighborhood but the time of the year that you're selling your home in.

Have your home appraised by a professional appraiser. This is the absolute best way figure out the true market value of your home.

There is only one absolute method of determining the value of your home. Appraisers have to be conservative to protect themselves and also to satisfy the lenders who don’t want to over mortgage a property. Appraisals take into consideration the recent neighborhood sales and are usually substantially less than the actual eventual sale price 99% of the time.
Value is determined by a variety of circumstances not the least of which is price, supply/demand, location, condition of home, market conditions and availability of qualified buyers. The accurate Value of a home is what someone is willing to pay and what someone is willing to sell for today. This happens every day!!!
